Para Nordic Ski & Para Biathlon

Lera was first introduced to the sport of Paranordic Ski by BethAnn Chamberlain, US Paralympic Development Coach at BAKA Boot Camp hosted by Hanger Clinic in OKC in April 2018. At that time, Lera was completely dedicated and focused on sharpening her skills in sled hockey, which she had began shortly after her recovery from double amputation surgery in 2017. BethAnn gave Lera's mom her business card which she carefully tucked away. For the next 2 years, BethAnn kept in touch with the family to see if Lera was ready to try Paranordic ski.

In spite of 2019 being one of the busiest years for Lera, an open invitation from BethAnn and an encouragement from a friend, mentor and teammate, Oksana Masters  were just the thing Lera needed; Lera decided to give Paranordic ski a try. And from there, her love of Paranordic & Biathlon grew. Lera was recently named on the 2021-2022 Development Team for U.S. Paranordic Ski & Biathlon team and it was just announced that she qualified to represent Team USA at the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics.
